Make It Good: The Best DIY Luxury I Have Ever Seen

The Kara Ross brand is synonymous with luxury, exotic textures and color. The gold and bright leathers pieces have been featured in top fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, and Elle. Her bold and unique use of exotic skins and gemstones are seen throughout several jewelry lines, handbags, and belts.

I fell in love with her python necklace that I saw in a recent issue of Lucky magazine. The bright colors and gold were right up my alley: I knew it had to be my next jewelry DIY!

Kara Ross inspired DIY python necklace

You’ll need:

gold spray paint,

an oval frame from the craft store (you can usually find them in the $1 section),

textured scrapbook paper

and a gold chain with clasp.

Saw your frame in half, sanding down the raw edges. Spray paint frame with gold spray paint, making sure that all edges and sides are covered. Once the frame is dry, trace the shape onto the scrapbook paper and cut out. Position your sections of paper on the frame and glue down. Once the glue is dry, attach the gold chain with hot glue to the back side of the frame and you are ready for hitting the town! What to do with the $385 you saved? Buy your girlfriends a drink and tell them about your new designer inspired DIY, you GlamourNerd, you!
