Not so long ago, this post would have been only relevant to a select few but in today’s America, it seems this category captures 70% of those of us in the U.S. In a place like New York City – the ultimate melting pot – curly hair in all of its variances is the norm, unfortunately up until recently, a great deal of products suited to girls like us wasn’t readily available. Well, there’s no more surfing the internet for secret society curly hair sites and product lines, curly is going mainstream and big brands are catching on.

I spotted this entire aisle stocked full of hair products dedicated to wavy and curly hair. Yes, right there, out in the open. They weren’t hidden between gels and dry shampoos or randomly placed throughout the store, they had their own special section, fairly close to the front. Lesson? When people evolve, brands should do the same. Well done Ricky’s.
