Another Way Technology Improves Shopping, Runway Tracking
Imagine harnessing the privilege of following a person, celebrity or brand on Twitter and using it for an item from a runway show. Its confusing to imagine but a New York based startup has hit the nail on the head.
Lyst, a startup that lets users follow or track runway items from the runway until they are for sale either in store or online. The interactive site gives users the opportunity to “Be your own editor!” by following looks that they want, creating collections of their own and showing off personal style.
The startup already has investors from Accel Partners, Smythson, Oscar de la Renta and Tory Burch and partnerships with top designers like Jason Wu, BCBGMAXAZRIA, Rag & Bone, Oscar de la Renta.
This contributes to the increasingly consumer inclusive growth of fashion week and premium fashion in general. In the past, those who weren’t in New York City or somehow connected to the fashion industry weren’t included in fashion until it hit consumer level. Today, a girl in Omaha can become apart of the world from her laptop.
